hey im heading off to Europe and Australia soon and was gonna get one of those bus tickets that takes you pretty much everywhere but speaking to a friend they said dont bother and just hitch hike......

I dont reckon its that safe to hitch hike......but thats just the impression i get from the South East of England.......but it seems like such a cheaper way to travel.....

Yeah, don't hitch if you are travelling alone! Sure 99% of people are cool but it only takes 1 psycho... :(

I've hitched all over the place - Ive never had a problem in the UK (no-one ever gives you a long ride though - its always 'the next junction') but abroad is a different matter. In the USA I met some complete psychos

And in countries where you dont speak the language its a definite no-no.

Takes forever to get anywhere too...

in the US its deff not something that anyone wants to try. usually the hitchikers are sketchy, so nobody picks them up, and the people that do either know them or are rapist.....

i wouldn't do it.

but also, I live on the out skirts of the 5th most dangerous city in the country....weehoo weve got some fame.....
