The unfortunate thing for me was there was a nice swell about 4 feet (8 foot faces) and wife didn't want me out there because she was freaking out about the hurricane (and there were predicted 25 to 30 foot waves). I guess afraid I'm going to kill myself and leave her to handle the hurricane alone. Well she will be alone.... her and the dog and cat who are all afraid of high winds and usually depend on me to be calmed down, I am at work waiting for the hurricane to hit somewhere around midnight. It's 4:30 now but wanted to get there ahead of time so I can get organized and make sure everything is ready. Hoping this all goes okay,,,, should be much less damage than hurricane Iniki which was category 4 with 200 mph winds. They are estimating about 65 mph sustained winds with gusts up to 100 or so but you never know ...hurricanes are tricky buggers.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

It's probably due to global warming but the hurricane is passing to the north of us with only minor damage from rain and wind. It seems lately the hurricanes have all tracked north and passed us by.

Yea! No death and destruction in one of the most beautiful states. Hurricane didn't follow man's predicted path. One of my Honolulu colleagues gave me the run down today. Hurrah!
