new wave of Bali bombs :(

Postby surf-cicak » Sat Oct 01, 2005 4:47 pm

Hey guys, I don't know if you have seen the breaking news, but there were a new wave of bombs in Bali (so far 19 reported killed). :(

I really hope everyone you might know there is ok!!!

I was just there surfing in August, and it seemed so great that Bali was starting to pick up again after the bombs in 2002. I know Indo seems very remote to some, but I am half-Indonesian and really take it to heart. It makes me so sad when I hear people don't want to travel to Indo b/c of how "dangerous" it is - and it angers me so much that a small group of extremist psycho terrorists continue to perpetuate that!!! :x How can such ridiculously horrible people keep doing this stuff?????

Ya it just goes to show one should always live life to the fullest...

Less than a month ago, my family were all eating dinner at the Jimbaran beach restaurant where the 2 bombs exploded...

One thing I have always loved about the surfing way of life is that it's such a great way to meet people from other cultures and learn and share a love for something that crosses national boundaries, and ethnicities, and religions. If more people shared that mentality, perhaps there would be less ignorance and intolerance that leads to all this senseless violence.

Ah yes, "intellegent design"...a topic dear to our hearts. We're designed like that. Ask God - he's one of George's best mates.
