Hey. How many of you guys would go to a gig on a beach with a band on rocks n you guys in the sea rocking with the fishes? Very low budget affair eg. play till its nearly too late n leg it when the tide comes in. It sounds like a lot of fun to me just wondering how many people would turn up.

hell yeh, i'd be up for that! ive always thought the one thing that could make surfing better is if you could listen to music while doing it... like skating, theres always music playing at the skatepark. as long as it was a decent band like :)

In England you have to get permission for a beach party from the local council - you certainly had to where I lived. They have to inform the coastguard blah blah.
It was not a big deal - and did not cost any money.

its just hard to get the weather in britain, or we'd probably see more beach gigs and parties, if we could be sure it would be sunny, we'd all go out more :S

there are ways to get around it but that will take up loads of time and money to set up a stage and have a car or something generating the electrisity.
all too drastic for a bit of fun on the beach

Hey, I would be all for that. Out on Long Island New York we could get a permit for $20 and party all night, it's always fun to get a whole bunch of friends (mates) and enjoy the show.

ihoa, you fellas would love crave, its a rave in a cave, held at long beach on the penninsula near dunedin, you park in the sand dunes, walk a km down the beach to the most amazing party ever, i'm talking serious drum and bass, dub, hip hop etc etc, in the different caves, full moon, massive bonfires, and last year over 600 people turned up and its supposed to be even bigger this year...on saturday if any of you guys are in the southern hemisphere...anyway, gotta finish some work before i meet my post grad supervisor tommorow, catch you all up later

Here's an interesting thing for all the UK surfers out there:
fatface.com/fatfacesite/pages/events/events.asp?sCCPage=events_24
This is a Night Surf session on a floodlit Lusty Glaze beach in Newquay in June.
Live Bands, DJs and night surfing. This should rock!!
Cheers
