It isn't "aid" first of all. It is investment in military and political infrastructure by maintaining an island in the middle of the west's #1 physical threat, the unstable (understated!?) middle east region. Any other conclusions the author yammers on about are irrelevant to the real reasons we pour money into that country....in Israel we have a territory in the middle east to base operations from, and we have a proxy to engage the "enemy" on physical military terms. It's not like i'm a talented and well informed regional analyst here.....standard modus operandi since the creation of the CIA. Carrying the proverbial "big stick" has been our foreign policy priority since WW2 and we're not about to stop now.

Must be me. The headline at the provided link reminded me about $400 Million recently delivered by the USA to a different nation near the one in the headline.
