So what about where you live? I think it's difficult to end it because of historical cultural acceptance. When I was a kid if a man was beating his wife or vice versa everyone looked the other way, now most times people will jump in and stop it or call the police. Around 10 years ago I was involved in an incident. I was fishing and a guy was slapping his wife/girlfriend and loudly yelling. Me and my fishing friends went over and put a stop to it and called the police. The wife/girlfriend refused to press charges and the police told me that was a common thing. I take it they hate to respond to domestic violence cases because the chance of them getting involved in a physical altercation is high but the chance of them ultimately making a difference is exceedingly low. As a kid growing up I once heard two women talking, one was saying that she thought her husband was having an affair, the reason she thought this is because when her husband came home Friday night he didn't beat her up like he usually did. I think it becomes expected, their parents did it they did it their children do it
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.
