Hurrah! Federal holiday coming this week. Thursday is the official big turkey meal day and, significantly, a day off from work. Friday is also a day off from work. Best part is there will be surf here in Santa Barbara county during this 4 day weekend. Yea!
:woot:

here in Japan, November 25th means you had better gotten your order in at KFC. Because if you didn't, 30 days later you won't be having Chicken for your Christmas dinner. Great marketing move by Japan KFC to convince people here that Americans all eat Chicken for Christmas. Turkey ? The ovens here wouldn't even fit a Quail !!

I give thanks to everyone on this forum for great conversations and insights.

KFC for Christmas? Cool one for Japan!!

Thanks, everybody. We're cueing up some smoked turkey, mashed potatoes, and green peas. Not quite traditional fair, but you can stray from convention when you don't have kids. Sometimes we even eat dessert first!

We'll be steaming rock crabs on Saturday! I'm looking more forward to that than tomorrow's turkey.

My wife and I had a meal in New Zealand with a great many things to be thankful for.
South Island scenery, Freshly baked crusty bread still warm , fresh New Zealand organic butter, a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc wine from a nearby winery.
On the bread and butter, freshly cooked, just caught lobster .
We sat on a log seat facing a seal colony just a short distance offshore, offshore wind so no stink .
We enjoyed the seal pup show while we hoed into it.
A memory to be thankful for :!: :claps:

I went surfing Thanksgiving day and my wife was thankful it was closer to 6 to 8 foot faces not 6 to 8 foot waves that make her worry about me.
