Tattoo question

I have one tattoo (my own design) and I'm looking at getting another. My question is, I've heard that people get tattoos of dolphins because it's supposed to be a protector in the water (i.e. dolphins protect from sharks). But I'm not sure I want a tattoo of a dolphin or not. Are there other tattoos (related to surfing) that people get for various meanings? I would like one of my tattoos to relate to my love for surfing and the ocean. Any suggestions?

Thanks man. Yeah, I've been searching around. Just figured asking other surfers would be a good way to go about it also.
