SO what do i do?

Postby PandaJosh » Wed Oct 23, 2013 5:42 pm

Well looks like my surfing season is slowly closing because i don't have a wetsuit going to be a while until I get one. So what do you guys do? I live in North Florida I know i live in Florida "suppose to be hot all the time" but it get really cold here. But lately my beach I go to Huguenot Memorial has been having some crappy waves due to the weather.

1: get a used wetsuit or 2: trade for one. Craigslist is great for bartering, grab some stuff you don't use, post it on craiglist. The are a bunch of people that get rid of wetsuits because they don't fit right, or because they broke a leg or... go to it

I think its getting out of hand how expensive wetsuits are becoming. A good wetty will cost you $500, even a not so good, is $350. For a piece of neoprene, insane. And if you surf often, your only going to get a year out of it. Ok, I'll get off the soapbox now, lol

(I am in no way affliated with the following site, I simply purchased my wetsuit and other outdoor gear there)
Keep an eye on websites like gearscan.com. Unfortunately there seems to be a slow in surf related items but they are still there occaisionally. I got a good RipCurl F-Bomb for a pretty decent discount.

If you have any money to spare, bookmark a search on craigslist and check it often. You'll be surprised what pops up, the good deals go quickly so you need to check often.

Also, I got an oneil 3/2 full suit that still had the tags on for only $55 off amazon. It was through amazon's site (warehousedeals.com) where they sell customer returns cause they dont fit or whatever reason. I also got a 4/3 oneil superfreak for only $105 which was like new as well, so if you check there often you can maybe find something you could afford.

Otherwise you can try to convince someone to get one for you for christmas maybe?
