Hi All.

Ive been toying with the idea of getting the above. However after looking into it there's more options than I could of ever imagined. Im after a bit of guidance if you wise kind people find a spare minute.

What im looking to do is simply cruise around the vicinity and pop out a few carves down hill when its flat or I can't get to the sea. I won't lie, id love to slide it but one step at a time.

Im looking to get a used one off ebay if possible. So what length, concave, shape (dont like the lollipop shape, like the pintails), wheel size, grip etc. Not sure if it helps but im 5'11 73kgs.

So any guides on makes etc appreciated

Dan

I have been longboarding for a few years now. It really depends on your style and where/how you plan to skate. I live in mi, and its really flat, so I mostly just cruise around town. If you want to skate downhill, I would suggest a longer board(about 40''), wide trucks, and soft wheels. I like bigger wheels. It is easier to ride over stuff and hadle uneven and bumby cenment. You probably want to look into some sort of drop through deck. I have a paradise, this one here http://www.ebay.com/itm/PARADISE-DROP-THRU-KICK-Bamboo-V-Lam-Carbon-Fiberglass-Longboard-BUBBLES-/370819060596#ht_3262wt_2759 I like it. I also have a sector 9 pintail. Pintails are a good starter board. You just need to get one and try it out. Find out what you like and dont like about it and keep that in mind when buying your next board.

Hello mate. I live in a village in the UK and its pretty flat. I just want something to cruise around on, pumping about and carve the odd hill up. Not looking to break any records or bones downhill. Im thinking of a pin tail about 38-42" and going from there. Does that length seem suitable for what im looking to do?
