Any Lifeguards???

Hi im fairly new here and i was just wondering if there is any lifeguards. Im 16 years old and want to be a lifeguard. Most liklely not this year but im almost a 100% sure im gonna try next year. If you are a lifeguard please say because i have a few questions.

That's a great ambition and a lifestyle to go with it. However what country are you living in, different countries have different requirements, and a different system of training.

If you surf and get an internationally recognised qualification you can work at resorts and surf schools around the world :lol:

I live on Long Island. I also don't surf but bodyboard. I do know how to read the ocean and all bit haven't moved onto surfing just yet. Do you think I should start at the pool lifeguard? I also just turned 16

Check out the Program for American lifeguards, and see how it fits for you.

They will give you some ideas that may help :D

+ this thread may explain why some people want to be lifeguards

By the way do you guys know If the beach test is the same as the pool test ?

The CPR stuff might be, as to water condition train errr no!
Go to those site and as I'm Australia that's about all I can give you and I got that by googling lifeguard training
