Surfing Waves

Just wanted to see how many people were affected by Hurricane Sandy. Where I live a lot of the town has been patched up but our beautiful boardwalk is destroyed

Even though we got a lot of damage, it was amazing how in the days after it neighbors and family/friends came together and helped each other get back on their feet.

So this is kind of a dual thread-
1) If you were affected by Sandy how are you now and
2) Do you have any stories about bad storms or hurricanes you lived through

Down here in VA we got a lot of wind and rain but not a lot of damage. To ya'll up there condolences and I have already signed up to donate blood at my high school.

I think RonG mentioned he had a house that he had a house which may have been affected.

It's great to see everyone rally round after an event like this. It would be nice if it didn't always take an event like this to make it happen.
I'm fortunate not to have ever been affected by something like this.
