Not for you lucky warm water types
Here in sunny England when is the best time to stop for the winter? (I only have a 3:2 and cant afford a winter suit). I'm going on Sunday and I reckon that might be it till next May.

Keep going until you turn blue!
It was pretty cold up at croyde last Sunday but then again quite warm yesterday so it's difficult to gauge I think. I'll be going back there again on 7th October and I only have a summer suit so we shall see if it really is the end of the season.

I did consider going till October but it has been pretty cold down here this week, guess it all depends on sea temp more then anything, how low is too cold?

It's starting to get a little colder now, summer suit and tent does not sound that comfortable

I seen this and thought of this thread. For those not wanting to spend hundreds on a new/second hand wintersuit i found this on ebay of reasonable price.

We have a kind of tradition of a boxing day dip in the sea. Very much in and out though

Yep it's really cool we have fires lit to keep us warm by sacrificing houses to the great bushfire god. Fortunately the fires at this stage are controllable and where they burn at that level they won't be a threat this fire season.
It is quite spooky to be surfing and have an orange sun and ash falling from the sky when there is a big one.
We rarely have earthquakes, and no volcanoes, our trials are fire, flood and cyclones.
Often a flood follow a fire and cyclone well..... they give us surf if they stay at sea, we don't have Thanksgiving but we have a heap to be thankful for.

I'm near Bournemouth and since this threat first started I can safely say no one will be needing any sun tan lotion hahaha. This morning was 4'c and that's in the house (our heating turns off between 3-6..I won't be dipping in, however, keeping the Boxing Day tradition, I'm already mentally preparing myself for this!

And more than your fair share of wind and rain as well
