Many thanks to all! The best part of this holiday, is it provides a day off with pay for some of us.
For those with history interests: our independence was claimed on July 4, 1776, from Great Britain, but not celebrated until 1785. Our founding fathers anticipated our independence day would be July 2, 1776, but the Declaration they prepared was not approved until July 4. Oddly, Adams and Jefferson, two that signed the Declaraion and were the only two signators that became US presidents, both died on July 4, 1826. Another founding father and peer of Adams, Jefferson, Franklin, etc., that became US president, also died on a July 4 (1831). That was Monroe.

It's amazing, the American Revolution in part was based on the fact that England was taxing them without them having any representation!
Some would say that is true of Congress now
It is the Americans' fault Australia exists as it does today, if there had been no revolution, I would be posting this either from Georgia or in french
