ASP Protest Vendee Pro 2012
A Protest surfing event with prize money up to $550000!
It started of this morning with more than 100 excited surfers on april 19th in rough conditions 3-4-5ft windswell in Les Dunes (the back-up spot). The surfers had diffculties finding the right pace as the waves were breaking everywhere, it was hard to find a good line-up and a lot of faceplants later a lot of surfers managed to make the best of it. But it was still hard and the scores weren't that high as well.
Heat 2 was very intresting, Tim Boal 2011 Champion had to competete against Yannick de Jager (NLD) Tim Boal ended third and Yannick 2nd. With some surfers still surfing Heat 2 the event "managers" decided to proceed the event with these conditions today!

As you can see Pablo Gutierrez from Spain got the highest score, managing to find his flow in these difficult conditions leaving his fellow surfers far behind him!
The protest riders got some really good results today like Tim Boal, Yannick de Jager etc.
The official next call is set to 9am tomorrow Friday, April 20 at the secondary venue of Les Dunes for an early start of the third Round of competition.

WHAT AN AMAZING DAY at the ASP Protest Vendee Pro 2012 Day 2
With a solid swell of 4-7ft and waves literally breaking everywhere!! the riders got into their flow, especially Vincent Duvignac opening up with a 9.33 out of 10 points placing himself way above his fellow surfers and proceeding to the Quarter-Finals together with Yannick de Jager the upcoming Dutch talent and Tim Boal the last years winner! What an amazing day, some surfers dared some nice airs with clean landings and a lot of 360's were made, what an amazing start today at 9am. And Joan Duru also wanted to be in the spotlights today getting the highest heat total of 16.50 out of 20

In a final in which very low scores were given Marlon got to make the best of it scoring eventually 10.20 points leaving the french competition behind him. In crappy 4-5ft wind swell at the main stage in La Sauzaie Marlon Lipke had to compete against Vincent Duvignac (Fra), Joan Duru (Fra) and Romain Clitro (Fra). Who are either overall contest standout, powerhouse or 2011 ASP Europe Champion.
