Does everybody actually surf here?

I was just wondering if everyone here actually surfs or has surfed before?
Or do some people here skate/skimboard or do something but surf?Obviously you'l get the kooks on here that just wanna have first-hand knowledge on how to use the surf 'lingo' in speech so they can go impress their mates, (Ouch! You can tell kooks arent my favourite people right now) but I was just comtemplating if anybody on here actually thinks as watersports (mostly surfing) as their 'hobby'.
I reckon about 80% of peeps here actually surf.
How often do you surf?
Wow this message is scatty with a lot of questions, apologies! Its been a looong week

But did you know (rubbin salt in here)...the local city council is building an artifical surfing reef 250 meters DIRECTLY off shore from my apartment. Yep, I'm looking out the window now at the four buoys that mark where it's going to go. Construction starts within a month or so.....These things are pretty rare world-wide so I'll post photos so you can see what's going on when it starts.

Ironically, I am a planner for this very same city council (seriously naughty conflict of interest with that job...but who gives a xxxxx right?).
Actually, I doubt I'll surf it much, it'll be a mosh-pit of posers & wannabe aerial artists. Perhaps dawnies...but the best thing about it is it'll divert attention from the various breaks up & down the beach.

Oh forgot to mention NZ Girl, this is why I said relationships & surfing don't mix. Perhaps if I spent more recreational time on dry land....

I surf as often as possible, which ends up being about probs less than 1/week. Here we can only surf at top half of the tide most of the time so that with work commitments and the f off great sand bank in the North Sea stopping swells means its not ideal really! We get a swell for maybe 2-3 days if we're lucky so gotta double whammy it each day, then its flat for 5 weeks or so :( .
Bassically when there's waves the rest of life gets put on hold - gotta get the priorities sorted properly  .
