Due to the concern about the recent lack of pointless banter on the site, we welcome the return of The Friday Thread


(actually, its still thursday in some bits of the world... but its friday for me)

So what surfing/drinking/shenanigans are you all up to?

Me? Im off to Adelaide this weekend to watch the rugby 7's (which I hadnt even heard of until I was informed we were going...) so no surf for me this weekend. A great deal of time in the pub methinks

Oh, and looking around the cultural delights of Adelaide. That should cover the first ten minutes or so

Tonight off to a tatoo place...

Tomorrow - all day mountainbike skills couse at a local forrest.

Sunday - hopefully waves! If not most likely housey stuff and not an epix back country cragiburn bike ride..

not friday here yet but got a job interveiw friday

going on a date sat and going to a late night jam session on sunday

hopefull im over my cold by friday as there are waves afoot

At the risk of sounding like a yuppie dick....

Got to work at 8am to a loss of lose your job proportions of several million $ on an overnight transaction, closed the position at a profit at 1.00, went out for lunch, had a delicious tuna tartare and 5 heinekens, went to the bosses house with a few of the boys, tried to teach the kids how to do burnouts in the back paddock, ended up with one bbq'd porsche carrera, two hectares of grass and a couple of million $$ of house having a lucky escape (ever seen a porker set fire to grass? mad), went to the local pub and got a ride on the fire truck, few beers and a taxi trip home to fish and chips.

Tomorrow is a heli flight over to Fiordland, hopefully get a board on there somehow, should be offshore and pumping, but otherwise fishing, then working all day sunday.

And the wife is pissed off at the lack of husband presence over the weekend.

Hmmm i'm in work trying to write some more of my literature review at the moment, out for a few (non alcoholic) beverages this evening (got the car- boooooo) straight after work. Saturday getting myself organised as going to Italy on Sunday for a 3 day long meeting, staying here:

I begin 2 weeks off work today!
and shall be spending the entire time kiting out my new surf wagon/ice cream bus. Now that sar's new board is as good as finished the shaping tools have been hung up for a month and the van tools have been readied for action.

hmmmmm, tonight i'm playing grand theft auto 4, yet again, and munching on popcorn whilst chatting to friends. tomorrow i really must make a start on an article I've been asked to write for a medical journal (well, it was bound to happen at some point ). I've got a June deadline but me thinks that based on previous experience I should start writing it sooner rather than later as i'm due to go back into hospital again soon. I've made a rough plan and I'm finally in the mood to start writing it. While I'm doing that I shall be waiting in for a very cute tesco delivery man to pop round sunday will, i expect, be spent taking lots of prescription drugs and catching up on all the naps i will probably miss on saturday what an exciting weekend

I stayed at work late to earn money to pay for the above trip, and then i went to bed at 9pm like the rock and roll chick i am cos i was so tired, and now I have a week and a half off work

Slabby slab time this sunday... if its working there shot i shall return with will be sicker than terminal ward

I've just got back from Basel and am now in bed. Awesome city, just a shame I was working. Weekend starts tomorrow!!!

I will be dusting off the bike, oiling the chain, dressing up like a power ranger and going for the first blat of the year !

Winter has been too long !!!
