only trouble is, my right thumb (which i dislocated 2 months and 5 days ago) is still in a splint and incredibly painful, so now i'm really struggling to do anything with no hands!

i've been having a good chuckle about it all day but when i think about it, i might just have a few problems!

even trying to use the computer is difficult!

i wish i could have taken a pic of the look on the nurses face when i turned up to the hospital yet again!!!

i hope it's not a case of "start the new year as you mean to go on"

thanks for the pics, even though they don't show you at your best. Interesting to see and sorry it has all happened to you.
Speedy recovery,

you're right i'm not exactly looking my best right now :D

i still have 8 fingers so i can type, but it's difficult!

the main problem i've got is eating! in a week or so the swelling and pain should have gone down a bit, enough to get by!

spent the entire day asleep... that's something i can do without any problems! heehee!

Haha, I wish you the best of luck while they're healing, and now you can pop up by using your elbows.

*majorly embarrassing as it's soooooooooo lame*

  the first thumb (my right) i was just tidying up after recently moving house and was lifting something out of the way when it went, the second thumb (my left), all i did was get into bed, put my left hand on the bed to swing my legs over and it popped

the specialist i saw the other day said he'd never seen joints so mobile as mine and reckons that i should have surgery on both my thumbs to keep them in place :( he's made an appointment for me to discuss what he wants to do with them, in 2 weeks time.

oh and rev - i can't draw on my cast as they bandaged over the top as the cast is split for swelling... but good idea!

i've put up with dislocating stuff since i was 9 years old but now it's happening so regularly it's ridiculous. a good week of my travels round hawaii the other year was ruined when i dislocated my toe and could barely walk. i had to stop surfing for 4 days and just lie on the beach (sipping cocktails   )

i don't want surgery though (cuz of other health issues) and fixing my thumbs would only be a start... they'd have to pin all the other things that dislocate - like my toes, my shoulder and my right hip. i'm just gonna leave it for now and hope my thumbs heal quickly and don't pop out again! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
