just talking to an old cat in venice, claimed to be running with Jay and Stacy and the rest at that time, he said it did not go down like that at all....sugared it up for Hollywood ya know.

but I guess a movie about doing drugs, and selling em, and ripping shiz off, and vandalism wouldn't be as hip.

The movie was about doing drugs, selling them, ripping xxxxx off and vandalism. But it focused more on skateboarding.

I saw this movie about 1 year ago, and now it's one of my most favourite movies... And of course Heath Ledger... always miss you

I love this film - weirdly enough I'd never heard about it until I went to the bank to take out some savings, the girl behind the counter asked if it was for anything in particular, I said surfing, she said check out LOD. So glad she did!

I got the double boxed set with Dogtown & Z-boys. Not so much surfing in it but an awesome documentary nonetheless.

Hollywood making lots of money off the back of sex, drugs, and rock&roll. About time the record was changed, this story line has been done time and time again. :yearght:

But people are going to keep having sex, taking drugs, and playing rock'n'roll. I reckon the storylines are perpetuated for a reason. Either way, I'd rather get to see some quality footage of surfing/skating for £5 per DVD than not. Someone's going to make money whichever way you spin it, and that film wasn't really a Hollywood thing, more of an independent production by someone who was there and has a passion for it.

Stacy's first doco movie was a true gem.
The second was an attempt to further milk the unexpected commercial success of it.
Enjoy it as entertainment.
