Beach, friends, lots of good food and drink done as cheaply as possible and use the money you save to go travelling afterwards!

It only costs £50 or so for a wedding licence at a registry office (or church).

Its all the other stuff that costs!

So set a budget, decide what YOU want out of the day and stick to it, you dont need flash cars, 100's sat down for meals, cakes, mega expensive outfits etc, dont know why people put themsekves in £20k's worth of debt at the start of their married life just for one flash day.

And you'll be way too busy on the day to realy appreciate most of it anyhow..

I got married for 250 quid all up. In a registry office, cheap ring, loads of mates, and hit the pub after and got wasted. Our kids were there and our parents weren't.

We were supposed to be going away for a week, but decided to emigrate to NZ, so I spent my "honeymoon" fitting a new kitchen so we could sell the house.

Can't see the point of doing a big expensive wedding.

Yeah, it was the only way I gonna do it. She also hit me up for a 3000 quid platinum wedding ring a couple of years later when I had some spare cash.

Lotsa UK beaches have nice hotels on or next ot them (Scarborogh Grand for instance) a lot of these will have the licence to conduct marrages...could do that in your wetty..kiss the bride leggit across the road then get in the sea.

Im a Photographer and one of the most fun weddings I have ever done involved a bride who wanted to destroy the dress at the end of the ceremony rather then keep it pristeen like others do.
we went to a stram and she mucked around in it getting wet and muddy was really fun for all.can imagine in the sea with a board would be even better!!!

good luck dude whatever you choose.

whatever you do just make sure you only think about you and your better half and have a good timee

we got married a st enedoc church, just outside polzeath.we had to moved down there for two weeks so we could class ourselves as residents, what a bummer

spent the night before in the oyster catcher and went for a pre wedding surf in the morning(in thunder, lightening and hailstone)10mins before we set off for the church the clouds rolled away leavin clear blue skies....great day  but it probably wasnt the cheapest doo.
