A good surf suncream here

Postby Sar » Mon Apr 28, 2008 12:30 pm

I tried this stuff for the first time this weekend and found it really good. I didnt get a burnt face despite it being rather sunny on saturday when I was in the water, it didnt get in my eyes despite me constantly wiping water from my face after wiping out like other suncreams, it seemed to counteract the drying effect of the seawater on my skin that I usually get when I surf and it stopped my borfriends wetsuit rub on his neck in its tracks. Its an all round thumbs up from me so I thought I would share what I found, (although a higher spf wouldnt be a bad thing):

ah nice one, i get cooked in the summer, i really need at least a factor 20. Might get some to stop the wettie rub though, even with a rash vest i always get a sore neck.

Use lard lad, best on a sunday surf. As the sun heats the lard you start to smell like a sunday roast :)

Titanium isn't a good idea better to use zinc.

Titanium is polarised using UV light, onnce polarised it has a very low contact angle which means that it will suck moisture out of your skin. Titanium nano particles are also toxic.

I agree here totally with the toxic nano particles. As an applied physicist I say some of the nano particles, all of which are less than a safe ten microns in diameter, enter your body but never leave ! They are like the bad fats, the bad bits in dairy products and the bad bits in air pollution.

I use thick creamy colored Zinc !

I prefer Zinka, their sunblock is awesome, wet or dry!
