Hey I was wondering if there are people who surf and go on budget travelling and don't really have a permanent job. because surfing and travelling already take up like 2/3 of the day itself. Well, i mean more like having a part time job to get enough money before heading out to the next spot. Or probably work part time as they travel to each part of the world.

Just wondering if there are people that think like me. hoping to become a citizen of carefree!

Lots of people work there ass off over the flat season then go off travelling/surf the rest of the year.

Depends how far you want to start heading.

I saw a T-shirt that read;

REAL SURFERS DON'T HAVE REAL JOBS

It was so appropriate I almost cried. The guy was just out of GROM stage, so not to bright about the real world yet. I do have a job, and I am a real surfer, so f' him. hehehe

The answer to these questions is, "yes." People with all sorts of intersts do it (travel extensively) either or both ways. I've done this for long stretches by auto, motorcycle, foot, and canoe in my past. One three month adventure involved my wife whom I met later in life. I know or know about people that were far better and went farther than I could have imagined. One was a German I met in Utah in 1986. He traveled the US by motorcycle. He stop and work here and there; usually pruning grape vines. I know about another guy and his girlfriend that traveled the world over by motorcycle for more than 5 years. They'd stop and work doing all sorts of things. It's a great way to go and you can get really good at it after awhile (your actual mileage may vary).

There is a great big world out there and it is a terrible thing not to see it.
