Nice vid PW. I must admit I did have a little chuckle at the slightly drunk struggling to formulate words part of the commentary. Looks like you have an excellent job :D

Good job PapaW, lovely to see that passion so strongly.

I also work for the Trust and have spent many a pleasant day at Lanhydrock. Perhaps if i'm up in NI you can show me round the local breaks some time??? Or join me for a session in D&C???

Reckon there are plenty of surfers at NT - check out the discussion forum on the intranet... easy dude.

real nice video there my man :D ..i was supping my coffee happily daydreaming back to 88-91 when i had my most favourite job so far in my diverse lil' life ! ..i was working in Hooke Park, a wonderful lil' forest owned by John Makepeace (famous for natural wood furniture- fookin expensive though!) ..at the time we were building a one-off experimental construction which was to be copied as a third world viable, natural building using trees straight out of the forest and a new eco poly covering 8) ..unfortunately the building ran waaaay over budget and as far as im aware it hasnt been copied

Man i loved that job ...they gave me a CHAINSAW!! ... seriously though, my most favourite job to date .. " deer running around us all day long and natural wood sculptures dotted through the forest that were made by JM's students. My job was to fell ,strip and in the same day drag the natural timbers to their bolting positions which were then torqued over to be bolted at the tips to another tree.. looked like three giant chicken carcass's ... wicked ...see if i can find a link ..ive never bothered looking before so nice one bro ..you've given me a lil' memory lane purpose today

http://oak.arch.utas.edu.au/projects/in ... hooh4.html ...wicked, have a look at all the photos bro and read the lil'bit of text at the end ..i think you'll appreciate it  :D

Ah yes! I've read about this, I idea is sound just needs to be applied in a less "design" seance if you know what I mean. The concept itself is very acient and extremely versatile., infact I've seen church spires and roofing in the exact same technique.

Great that you had the opportunity to work with wood that way :)

That vid was excellent, it really held my attention right till the end, and as I have the attention span of a 5 year old, thats sayin something.
A guy I used to work with started out his working like as a tree surgeon and stuff like that. He used to name all the trees in the area we worked (doing something completelyt different) in Latin, and although I've moved on, I still do it now when I see a tree, although most of them here are palm trees..........................
Hope you enjoy NI, you're doing a great and very worthwhile job. :D
