i was packing up stuff earlier as I'm moving yet again...

i dropped my laptop on the floor  i'd left in on the bed and forgot... i sat dwn and it slid off onto a wooden floor with a loud thud :(

it took 3 hours before it turned on again, and i'm sooooooo relieved it did otherwise I'd be fleshin'!

buuuuuuuuuuuuuut... the "o" key doesn't work unless you press on it really hard and it's really bugging me when I write and then look at the screen and see there are no "o"'s when there should be - it's taken me ages to write this and get the key to work.

Does anyone know how to fix it? is it fixable? My arm is already hurting frm having to press down on it so hard!

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllppppppppppp....

please :D

You may be lucky and the key may have just "popped off" the board. If this is the case, you can try prising the key off the board and reattaching it.

This can be a really tricky/fiddly job with lots of swearing. Most keyboard keys have a couple of springs and a hinge type thing underneath. When you reattach the key make sure these all go back in the right place.

If that doesn't fix it take it to a repair shop and ask them to have a look at it.

Alternatively you can plug in a normal PC keyboard and et up and running again real quick.

thanks for your suggestion! It sounds like it might just be the spring thing on the ley then. I daren't try to take the key off myself, so i'll have to take it into a shop when i get a minute.
