Aye, just thought I'd see if anyone else drew/painted etc.

I used to draw and haven't for about 2 years but I thought I'd try and start again, starting with this 10min sketch...guess who!

Image <-about real size (maybe bigger)

Artists out there show us some of yer work. If it's surf related even better!

Indeedy! It's actually pretty pants, the proportions are all wrong, the hair is a bit of a give away though, huh?

Thanks for the compliment though! :D

Johnny B, that one hell of a sketch/drawing!! In my art classes at school my report books would always say....'Sara tries very hard' ie 'Sara is rubbish and wasnt made for this stuff but she does try', but I do tend to appreciate it....always the impressionist stuff that appeals to me.....never seem to get the picasso (sp?)type thing tbh.

love paintings of flowers, I dont know why but it seems to appeal to me.
Do not like 'modern art' like the disections of cows and a 'glastonbury tent' or the 'messy bed'...latter 2 were tracey emmin?? (sp) (dont think that's the proper names for the 'art work') but feck me....I could pull that shite!!
no no....definately paintings with real skill...not something that I or my little neices and nephews could do and pull off just because we're 'artists'.

This I have found recently
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2231769701

Not sure if the link will work, It's Julian Beever, kind of a street artist, its all about perspecitve....fantastic imo 8)

I like the way water colors look, but HATE doing them. It's such a pain, you never get truly saturated colors, you can't match real life, its so uncontrollable, its just a general pain in my opinion.

If you can do them, more power to you, but I can't and I don't like them. And I'm being forced to do one now. So yes, I am whining

I prefer imppressionist sort of painting with watercolour, but if you layer the paints you can get decent colour opacity

got a new one I did, acrylic on canvas, the sky and water is painted using water colour style washes (just thinned acrylic) and the trees are painted using an impasto technique

Some great stuff there! I especially like the second watercolour by Dave M666!

I've done a load of other stuff in the past week, so I might post it soon. Although, I must warn you, I never finish a drawing, so they're always half-done or unshaded, uninked etc etc (usually cos I only draw for 20mins or so at a time).
