WRC fans?

Postby greg@hoodatsurfco » Tue Sep 11, 2007 9:03 pm

As I notice many aussie and kiwi folks here, and many UK people.. I have to ask.. are there any WRC (world rally champ) fans here?

I drive a wrx that is currently being redone for rally here in the states.

And I plan on going to AU next year for the Brisbane Au rally.

Ya I am a Solberg fan myself, but I can still respect Loeb to be one of the best drivers ever in the WRC.

Solberg is quite the hero also.

i used to be a Colin Mcrae fan, in 2003 he switched to Citroen so did Carlos Sainz and Loeb, those were my 3 favourites, what a team:!:

damn straight, i might even have my D300 to play with (if im lucky)

Sad news....

on a different note, how did ya'll get into rally? I think I could really do well either in rally or some other form of racing, except drag. Over too fast.

well as much as i would love to say i am an amateur rally driver, i can't

if i had the funds i would probably invest in buying a motorsport vehicle of some kind as i feel i would be the next Sebastian Loeb/ Lewis Hamilton

motorsport of some kind would be my ultimate job, or being the next Jeremy Clarkson

I grew up watching.. well in the years of my life that it counted.. I watched Colin McRae drive for subaru, and I got obsessed with it.. absolutely wanted an impreza from back when I was like 11 years old.. I am 23 now.

So when I turned 20, I had saved up enough to put a nice down payment on a WRX and got one.. I do local rally stuff.. but sadly this summer 2 days before a big rally I blew up my motor. And that is gonna cost about 5grand or 2500 pounds(GBP) but that means when I get the new motor in it will be a race motor.. well damn close.. and will sit around 350wheel horsepower.. and the same or a tad more in torque. I am very excited.
