im pretty much gonna finish my rants with going with Phils last post ... there simply is too much to debate where saving this planet is concerned , lets just hope that the powers that be, have as much passion as we, when it comes to sorting it all out :wink:

Slightly of topic but i've just watched a programme that sums up the ills of the world, Comic Relief Does the Apprentice.
Why do the rich celebs think they can splash there cash and think that they gain some moral high ground, " ooh but i spent a thousand pounds to ride the dodgems" well thats them sorted for the year.

As for the other posts about crappy councils and them dumbing down local amenities, there never have been any, there never will be. I didn't have a youth club, or even a crappy skate park, there were no "community centres" you made your own fun as a child, you laughed and joked, took the piss. The elderly were not a burden, people just looked out for them more and didn't abandon them to a home. Oh and i'm 37 so not ancient, or i don't think i am.

I am far too tired to give an eloquent response to this very interesting debate that I have watched unfold. Just with the youth centre thing.. Im a p/t youth worker who works for a council which is well aware of the needs of young people and strive to provide a service for those young people, their recycling provision...not so good. The last council service I worked for closed the youth centre (in a deprived area) for reasons I still do not know. However, imo they're recycling provisions are pretty good - cant seem to get the balance right :shrug:

Sorry if that was a half baked thought, but it was merely a thought I had.

(afterthought...as a young person you cant just hang around and have a laugh anymore - you get slapped with an ASBO :roll:

Pills for cows to reduce emissions Thursday March 22, 04:53 AM

Scientists in Germany believe they have invented a pill that stops cows from breaking wind.

Scientists at the University of Hohenheim in Germany say that they have found a way to reduce the methane emissions from cattle that make up 4% of harmful greenhouse gas emissions.

There is only one setback though. The pill is about the size of a human fist, which is proving hard to persuade the cows to swallow.
