"Don't, don't, don't believe the hype..."

I had switched off to it all until I caught a news bulletin on the radio the other day saying that Alistair Darling (Chancellor of the Exchequer) claimed we're in the worst financial slump in the last 60 yrs and its going to get worse and be harder than we thought to get out of it. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article4641381.ece
I sort of found myself believing the hype, but now I don't know which bit the hype is since Darling's comments seem to be upsetting all the politicians, and this is usually something I feel indicates some aspect of truth. :? Ah bolox to it. Nothing I can do about it anyway and if it happens it happens. Nothing wrong with economizing and I'm going to go surfing when we get some waves 8) .

best sales week for my company all year!!!!!!......wtf

I hope this is a sign of my easy ride through the depression.....I doubt it..

so weird that during a historic market crash....this week people bought almost $60.000 in windows for their homes. When we normally sell around 20k.....go figure. :D

The financial world is largely built on speculation and if the media convince public its a bad time to buy a house now then they won't buy a house now and everyone waits and all the houses are worth less and people panic.
The media loves it and amplifies things which generates more panic and people won't invest in anything as nobody's buying anything because the papers say its a bad time to.
The truth and the bottom line is the interest rate is still going down not up.

Good point bruv, lets not buy any news papers for the next month. Let them have a taste of there own medicine. I don`t anyway, so i`ll make the first move. Who`s next :D
