:D

I'm going on a heli pub crawl next week, flying up to the other side of the alps, there's still good snow on some of the higher peaks, might just have to take my board and get the pilot to put in a 20 minute stop on one and get my last turns of 2008 in before I get too pissed.

If it happens, I'll definitely post photos 8)

I think he means he does turns down the mountain not just slipping down on his heel edge.

Haha gotcha now. No more falling leaf.

I went out today, was too busy/cold to take pictures. 40 MPH wind and 0 deg Fahrenheit at the top, 8 at the bottom. Absolutely frigid. They were blowing snow all day even when it was snowing. About a total of 7" by the time I left, it was good fun. I'm still warming up and I got in 4 hours ago. Now I'm tired although its 8 PM, hahaha. I think I might sharpen and wax a pair for a buddy and just go to sleep!

Met a guy on the lift from Christchurch, he told me I should move there, haha.

hawaii. surfing is more fun for sure, hiking is always a possibility if surf sucks (its too cold here) the food is better, and theres a good amount of diverse women. here its all white girls and there are a whole lot more guys. but i do live in a ski resort at an elevation of 10,000 feet, boulder is a nice city with a lot of girls. plus in colorado even at a resort town the cost of living is much cheaper and theres a lot more jobs.

it was packed this weekend, with only 3 lifts open. i hope its not so packed when more lifts are open, i was so busy trying to avoid people sitting on the trail or zigzagging heel side all over the place i fell for the first time since i wednesday and hit my head so hard i had temporary short term memory loss. i think im giving up snowboarding on those packed days if its still that bad when more lifts open. sucks cause now i have nothing to do for thanksgiving next week, i dont start work til Dec. 1

i need some advice guys. its been kind of crowded here and the snow seems like its about 3 inches deep with a foot layer of ice under it. still most other guys seem to be having fun. i want to go home. im thinking ill stay, wait til my job starts, and stay a month to see if i end up liking it and decide to stay of go then. my question is, do you guys think i will end up liking it here, or since im not having fun now (while im not even working) then i probably wont have fun later in the season.

Yeah it will get frustrating at times. I say you stay, I mean it's a cool place, once you find some people to board with and such it is so much more fun in my opinion. Then even on crap days ya'll can mess around and play with little things and what not, race, hit little features, just chill (not in the middle of the slopes, hahaha) , whatever.

Colorado is having a rough season. Jet stream is going way north, so up farther in Montana and stuff they are getting some snow but it's not the typical winter for Colorado (or us, but in the good way!). Since the jetstream is going far north, then coming down on top of us, we are getting cold and moisture....two that never seem to line up for the southeast, and we have gotten probably 10-20 inches this year, one place got 35 inches in 2 days, and really we usually only get maybe 4 "dumps" of 2-3 inches a year, maybe one killer 6 incher.

So the jetstream will drop, dunno when I haven't looked or know if they are predicting that.

So pretty much find people to board with, the conditions will get better (although I seem to have fun on most anything with the right people), and the job you will meet people and stuff. The crowds is just something you gotta deal with, coming from the east coast with very limited resources (snow and waves) crowds are the norm. It's almost eerie when there isn't anyone in your way. But when you get better they turn into moving slalom.

Stay the winter. If it's horrible, you'll appreciate Hawaii more. If it's great, then that's great.
