I'm goofy in skateboarding, regular in snowboarding, probably because I turn with my right foot. I write right handed but I was born leftie and my parents forced me to be right handed

I don't think it makes any difference whether you are right or left handed or even right or left footed.

As with so many aspects of surfing, it's just about what feels right.

I am BOTH footed but surf regular. My friend is left handed and still hasn't figured out whether he's a goofy or a regular foot surfer and he's been doing it for 16 years!!

He's one of those lucky guys who can surf both ways just as easily!

When I went snowboarding for the first time then had my bro shove me with out me knowing and i forget but what ever foot you move is the foot that should be in front. I ride normal. Acually it is funny I surf and snowboard normal but skateboard goofy. So i guess tell someone to shove you and have them do it when your not expecting them to.

I´m a riversurfergirl and have not decided now if I´m a goofy because I surf as ambidextrous as I can write with both hands. Am I a super goofy?

hey, I'm goofy too, am i superior too ?hahaha...is it really important ?

I never thought about regular/goofy except when I surf with my friends (regular) because we don't take the same waves (I'd prefer to take "lefts").

What about you ? Are goofy surfers prefer the lefts and regular the rights ? I'm just wondering...

hey, i'm goofy footed too!

I snowboard goofy also, but i'm all mixed up in other sports.

In kindergarten i started writing left-handed, but switched to right, so i guess i'm an actual left-hander, though i've become amidextrous.

i've never tried surfing regular, but it doesn't feel too weird when i stand with my left foot forward-maybe i'll try it sometime........

and i agree......goofy footers are the superiors!!!!

HEY! What's wrong with regular surfers?

How come we have to be inferior? We may be the majority but surely that doesn't make us any less important.....does it?

My mother always tells me I'm special....

I think its to do with which is your "prominant side" (I think that's what it's called but I could be talking complete arse). This is the side or foot that you would step forward with to steady yourself if somebody gave you a shove in the back. That foot will be your forward-most foot on a surfboard... I think! ofcourse it could be the other way around :)
Try it for yourselves and tell me your findings...I'll make a pie chart!

yeah, that push in the back thing makes sense...... my sister's friend didn't know which foot she was, and the teacher pushed her in the back and she stepped out with her left foot-making her regular. but i'll have to try it sometime

If someone pushes you from behind and you land on your face, what does that make you?
