And be wary of a woman who pashs you up while shes going out with someone else....if she does it to him...she's gonna do it to you too one day...stray.
I'd go for the bag it & bin it. Anything else is a bonus. *smirk*

Here's a question: (Probably a stupid one, cos loads of guys do this I reckon)

Anyone ever been out with a girl, but kept the nocturnal activities up after the split and then started seeing someone else but still keeping the ex on the side?

Surfing and successful relationships 101,
1)Let your mate know that you surf.
2)Tell your mate that you will surf.
3)Tell your mate that chores will be postponed when there is a swell.
4)Let your mate know things that can be accomplished at night will not interfere with surfing.
5)Tell your mate that if they want to go to the beach with you they need to be prepared for pre-dawn departure.
6)Funds for surfing equipment are an essential part of the budget they are mandatory.
7)If your equipment gets damaged, worn out or broken, there will be immediate replacement.
8)Checking out well toned bodies in/out of the water is acceptable.
9)If they want to spend more time with you learn how to surf.
10) No, you are not going to quit surfing some day when you get older like your friend Jimmy.

I quit surfing for two years trying to save my marriage and please the “BEAST”, didn’t work. I missed out on two years of waves, got fat and lazy. The first thing I did after the big “D” was buy a new board, long board, to support my, at that time, Fat A S S. I WILL NEVER DIE AGAIN! That was ten years ago. I am back on a short board, shed the 60 extra lbs and feel great. So, if you let your mate know these rules you just might be successful.

I am sure there are a few rules that I have left-out, feel free to add to the list.

Surfing is a way of life, not a hobby.

wise words;
I too didn't actually 'give up', I just found myself traipsing around shopping malls on lovely sunny saturday afternoons (with swell) looking at lounge suites to keep the beast happy...
we're no longer together...

Again, wise words. As Kelly Slater once said "when you surf, that's it, you're in the game, it's like you're in the mafia or something".

SO true. my advice is, get someone who
a)understands surfing
b)is willing to learn to understand.
c)has an equal level of obsession with something else, so that when you're away, they can keep themselves happy and occupied. everyone's a winner!

Didn't he say something like

"Once your a surfer, you're in. You're done. It's like the mob or something, you know, you're not getting out."

Hel yeah!

I was in that same position about five months ago. This chick was going out with a friend of mine although i never realy liked him because he was an ass and she didnt like him either because he didnt treat her right wich was obvios. So she sort of started coming on to me at work (because we worked together)and we started hanging out everyday for about three weeks. Then i heard from my roomate who was also friends with the dude that he wanted to beat my ass. Id never been in a fight until this time in my life but i wasnt going to live my life with someone out to kick my ass so i called him up and told him to meet me at a park. so we did that and bralled for like 2 min untill it got broken up by some random person. It was funny because he was talkin mad xxxxx about kickin my ass and i made him look like a fool and the chick was there watching the fight to. So in conclusion i got laid for the first time after that but we didnt stay together because of some other complicated things that whent down.

My girlfriend, who wasnt into surfing before she met me (she's a climber - scary), now drives the camper van half the time, doesnt mind dawn sessions, comes surfing with me...

But (and this is the good bit) doesnt stay out as long as me so goes back to the van and gets some food going for when I get back

....But I should add that when she's dangling by her fingertips from some overhang on a mountain, I'll happily sit in the van cooking the grub!
