I need something to occupy me in the eves and weekends thats not going to cost much and doesn't need daylight.

I'm open to all suggestions and feel free to make comic ones as I'm sure some of you will :p

I think for definite the best suggestion is to find girlfriend/s. Personally I love to cook too for example and see that it becomes meaningless without someone to share it with. The same applies to all the things I do except surfing. Company is generally underestimated. Ideally the company should be self sufficient and therefore cheap.

Could I be so rude and ask your age and what your work is before I make any lewd suggestions?

Do you want an outdoor, freezing, raining (really not suitable for Ireland) sort of past time or some indoor suggestions?

Heh, Well I'm 25 and a Countryside Warden for the NT so i'm outside all day every day So yeah its sorta nice to be inside in a way but still open to suggestions.

I'm pretty self fulfilling in terms occupying myself really and pretty much everything thats been suggested I already do. Just come out of a relationship also so perhaps thats the route of my unrest.

I was going to suggest hiking but you obviously already do that stuff.

Indoor rockclimbing, orienteering, indoor soccer or handball.

Any other indoor sports, maybe a mixed team sport if you want to have a laugh.

I think that someone has already suggested a martial art. I think the instructor and also the style really change the experience, so if one doesn't suit you then try another one.

Yoga is great for flexibility which is what many males tend to neglect. There are some more physical ones which might appeal to you more.

If you had a bit more money, perhaps a cooking course in the style of your favorite cuisine (mind you, that might not be possible in Ireland, I am in Sydney and there are lots of yummy Japanese and Thai cooking classes)

Here, we also have a "big brother" scheme where you can volunteer to mentor disadvantaged youth. Maybe that is a bit too heavy, but some other volunteer work might be fun. Work with refugees or homeless.

Plan an overseas holiday and go do a language course.

Some other evening college course.

Wood work, sculpture.

Now that I read over it, this has just turned into a list of things that I would like to do, but hopefully you will find something inspiring to do.

Now that I've realised where you live, perhaps your options are limited to drinking lots of whisky :D :D :D

Hehe no no they are good suggestions... I've been doing alot of wood work this last month or so in the evenings making xmas prezies from slices and interesting parts of the trees i've felled this autumn.

Trying to get more people round so I can revive my interesting in cooking. Really is just a bit boring when its just for yourself.

Still i'm ferryng back to the Southwest to do that whole family xmas at the end of the week so will get to see lots of mates and such. will cheer me up a bit.

So what about shaping? If you enjoy woodworking you'll enjoy shaping, it's great creating something, doesn't have to be expensive, can be done pretty much anywhere. I think someone on here shaped one in a bathroom.

Company changes everything. This is what to do. Hire out the village hall and give a series of lectures about whatever interests you. At the end of the series of letures there will be one audience member left. An extremely witty and attractive woman but she will already have fallen in love with you. So when you finish the last lecture walk upto her and say "fancy a pint?"
