i think the failure rate is higher than 50 percent. really high. but i dont have any beef with microsoft. i got mines back after 2 weeks, everything was paid for, and they gave me 2 months xbox live free, (which i never use but will when gta comes out).

xbox360 Premium + GTA4 + p&p = £200, best deal around as far as I could see.

dude i'v had 3 360's break on me...this 4th one is holding on
i have had one ps3 and it has never gone wrong.....

Well my GTA IV turned up and its fine, its locked to 'PAL' regions which works.

How much has the 360 repairs cost you? Should be nothing.

If you are in the market for a new 360, be sure to get the “Falcon” version.

There have been three versions of the 360 since launch – each with better builds resulting in successively lower failure rates. There is the launch version, the Zephyr, and most recently the Falcon. The next version will be code named Jasper (or it may have already been released).

You can tell which version you have by the Lot # and Team name on the sticker on the side of the box. A more sure way to tell is by shining a flashlight through the bottom and observing how the transistors (?) are laid out. If I recall, 3 flat is the launch version, 3 standing upright is the Zephyr, and 2 upright is the Flacon.

If you do a quick google search on the interwebs, you can find this information readily available including photos of what to look for. Heck, the Lot # and Team names are even on an official Xbox site. There is also a cool directory of user submitted specs for what they got specifically.

I’ve got the Falcon and have it laying on its side on top of an Antec laptop cooling pad. I’ve had zero issues for the 9 or so months I’ve owned it.

There realy shouldnt be any Zephyrs on the shelves any more - check out the pouwer requirements if your unsure, 175w is the Falcons.
