Moving to Costa Rica

Postby jethrodog » Tue Mar 06, 2007 2:56 pm

:woot:

Bought our place in Costa Rica, 20 minutes north of Jaco. Signed all the papers and set up the corp. on this last trip there. It is right on the beach, 50 feet from it. Has mango trees, palms with coconuts, cashew trees, almond trees. As a person from the prairies of Canada it's awesome! Not much surf at our beach but we will be 20 minutes or closer either direction to 5 different "known" surf locales.
I am moving there in July to start on the house renovation and the wife comes down Sept. 1 after she finishes work.

:D

Well, Tomcat, I may have to give up the backcountry for a few seasons. Skiing is fun, but the cold has gotten the best of me and I am ready for a change.
As for work, I am a Construction Manager, have a business building custom homes and commercial buildings here in Calgary. I am going to be developing some small projects in Costa Rica, building a couple of homes on the beach and overseeing a 10 home project near Playa Hermosa. Hopefully keep it to a minimum as I want to devote most of my time to surfing and renovating my property. Basically looking at not doing too much for 3 years.
And for a Surfing Waves meet, you bet!! Come on down.

I've been pretty lucky, I will admit it. I have friends who do alot of real estate deals and they need work done, quick and good. So I have had some pretty good projects come my way. So I can't complain, at all. But I am definately looking forward to ditching the high stress from the past 17 years for a little bit of fun in the sun!!
