O great my computer is not starting up once again..... I dont know what it is but whenever my comp works once again in a month it breaks. Well this time it tells me whats wrong with it, it says something about "windows/system32/hal.dll" and once my dad tries to fix it, I'm dead.

Ahh, windoze xp..... get out your windoze cd and format the damn thing, that way it's gonna work for a while.

oh, yeh, try and save stuff you need, like cocktail recipes etc onto a cd, as they'll be gone-ski after a format....

I feel your pain, bill gates is a criminal.

As the computer is booting, but before it goes into windows keep hitting the f8 key and it will give you a boot menu.

looks like this.

Image

Choose "safe mode"

when window has finished booting in diagnostic mode it will give the choice of tinkering or restoring your windows to an earlier version.

Choose the latter.

Pick a date when the computer was working but as recent as possible.

reboot.

If this doesn't work give me a shout on the forum.

Yup! I have 2 PC's and they work perfectly. It might have something to do with my being a qualified computer engineer though!

:D

And if only HALF of what I've heard is true then MAC's don't work that well anyway - watch the video. That guy is an editor for New York Times apparently.

Still madly inlove with my iMac, had it over a year now and its still never crashed or dumped programs. And had no stupid virus/spyware/hacker threats. Am about to get me a new laptop, and for a while I was considering a PC, but have decided against it and am gonna be getting me a MacBook
