Maybe your exclamation marks have scared them off!!!!!!
I think is a little strange as well, but I have seen registered people who have not posted still looking through all the posts, so perhaps they are just waiting for something worthwhile to post on.

For new people it is hard to get into a conversation until they feel comfortable, I'm sure they will talk in time but I don't blame you for trying to help everyone out, that's cool what you are trying to do.

Some are more outgoing than others, I am also on a Subaru forum because I own a Subaru WRX and it took me a while to jump into the conversations BUT it took someone like you to start the process, they did exactly the same thing, they started a subject "For those not Joining in" , it worked.

I've been there Duncs, drink lots of water. The WRX is awesome, I modified it "a little" and it is awesome, it does everything it says it can do and more. It's the first car I ever owned so I thought "get something fun".

Hopefully we can get more of the registered people typing away at this thing. At least they can see we don't only surf.

Everyone, feel free to add to the great conversation.

Oh yeah... if you have any other local groups out there let me know. In college my friend was from London and he used to tell me about all the local bands making it big.

You wanna know about some local bands,..ok well here goes!!!

projectabner.com - Project Abner - a band from Essex/London. Create music that they would listen too. Very well written stuff! MAD!

orcaband.co.uk - ORCA - a band from plymouth, who are more punky side of emo. They are tipped to make it big this year, so go see em while they are still underground!

daysindecember.com- Days in December - Haven't heard much of their stuff. But they come recommended from many people

hidingwithgirls.com - Hiding With Girls - Welsh quinet. Emo, bit more mainstream, on the verge of making it big! Definitely worth a listen, video on site!

throughsilence.com - Through Silence - The legends from my town! Described as more Metal-core. I totally dig what they are doing! go si, ali mitch and steve!!!!

secondsmile.com - Second Smile - Harder stuff, with more screaming. But i love it too!!!

Ill add more, these are the ones that spring to mind. Im sure there are loads out there, im just discovering a lot of them!!!!

They do indeed have the single "cassette" out on scuzz. What a "tune" it is too. I only wish i had sky and could therefore enjoy more of the british unsigned talent on the music channels!

Oh well!

Hey

Postby nczapla » Mon Jun 14, 2004 8:07 pm

Hey,

I just joined the forum.
I just moved to Huntington Beach from the Chicago area in February.

I want to learn to surf soooo bad, it fkn hurts. Only problem is, I didn't realize it would hurt my friggin bank account to take up surfing.

Anyway, that being said, I am looking to find a good board to learn on. Something that I won't be embarrassed to carry around or down to the beach. I am looking for a board cheeeeeap. And by cheep, I mean free is better. lol. (I actually got a 8'10 X 23.5 ish X 3.25 ish board for free, its a swallow tail, but some of my neighbors that surf mocked me when I pulled it out. Maybe cuz it's old, maybe because the previous owner obviously repaired a crack/ding thing with a fiberglass patch, then put like red duct tape over it. i don't know if I should just say screw it and take it out or what? iono)

I'm just worried about dumping like $200 on a "used" board and deciding I don't like surfing, or finding out that I just suck ass.

I imagine once I get out there, I'll post quite a bit, with questions and what not. But for now, bodyboarding it is until if find a board.

So phew. I'm tired now. And tired of looking for boards.
Anybody got a stick there gonna ditch? hook me Uuuuuup!

my earth posting connections only work when the sun and mars are in alignment, which allows me some latitude to post for a few hours.

by the way....could you ask those bloody americans to send a garbage lorry back up here to clean up all the crap they left here 30 odd years ago...

thanks
