Probably the best place is in the SW of the UK on one of the novice-friendly beaches. Saunton near Croyde is a good place to start. For it to be fun you'll probably want to wait until late spring.

Yes, you might have a problem.
Some/most/all places will exclude certain groups from their insurance, and they wont take you out unless they're insured (otherwise you can sue them personally if things go wrong).

I dont know whether they'll all say no - you'll have to talk to some places.
The big thing is likely to be your state of control and the medication that you're on. If its really well controlled and you've not had a seizure for some time, then you might be okay.
If, however, you do have regular seizures then they wont take you out, and in all honesty you shouldnt be out there. The ocean wont forgive even a few seconds of a surfer not being fully aware of the situation and environment.

Talk to your GP, or specialist, first. Then the surf schools. Then decide whether you can get out there.

Good luck, hope you find you can come out back with us.

You've got the whole of the East coast from Hull - North right on your doorstep...

Plenty of tuition avalable from Easter usually. Google uk only --> "East Coast Surf lessons"

Or on your next visit to scarbourough way pop by Cayton bay. They do lessons.
