Santa Barbara HIgh School Water Polo Champs

Water polo is a big sport in high schools on the California central coast. There are very competitive teams for both boys and girls. Quite a few players from Santa Barbara and nearby Ventura advance to play on international Olympic teams. In 2015 & 2016, Mrs. Morini and I drove a high school car pool that included a female student that was on a school water polo team. The joke Mrs. Morini and I shared was the belief that this student was capable of pinning the shoulders to the mat of our beloved nephew whom was 1 or 2 grades ahead of her.

Just recently, the Santa Barbara boys high school team, the Dons, won the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Division 3 Water Polo Title. The final games were held in Irvine, CA (Orange county) and many of the final matches were rough & tough clinchers. In this contest, the team from the high school nearest to our home prevailed. The photo cracks me up because every one of these young men are so lean! Oh, to be slim and fit once again!

hahaha yeah right. When I was that age I was so fit and skinny. I ate so much food and never put on a pound
