Hey!

Just realised I seem to have gotten a life these last few months and not been on the net at all! Can't be having that, now - how is everyone? Any interesting goss?! Ok so I could just read all the other posts for myself but as I said, it's been a while and the exams have taken it out of me! Anyhoo, just thought I'd say hi again! :)

Hannah x x x

PS: for anyone who remembers my love of Jack J... I couldn't go to either of his gigs over here! GUTTED!!! :( :( :( Oh the woe...

Hey thanks Libby! No I hadn't seen it but just found it and it has made my day even more exciting! (Ok, well it wasn't that exciting to start with but any day is exciting now I have no more revision to do!! I'll get over that soon, really...)

And Surf Patrol, you have my humble apology for daring to venture away from my computer screen

I promise I'll never leave ever again. (Except for when I'm in Bolivia next month and may find it slightly difficult to keep in touch. Then again, I hear their internet cafes are goin' strong!)

Catch y'all later - gotta go do some retail therapy! WOOHOO! Rather be surfin' though...

I've been to Bolivia!!

Oh my god im sooooo jealous, had the most amazing time. Youve got to go to Apa Apa ecological park, its in the lonely planet guide. Say hello to Gabriel while your there (hes hot!). Honestly Apa Apa is a must. If your thinking about doing the Takesi trek dont do it backwards! Have fun with altitude sickness, dont eat llama steak its minging, get used to the smell of urine in the street (La Paz) and go to the Mosquito Bar in rurranabaque. Gotta do the pampas and jungle too. In the pampas we saw howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, camen, alligators, birds of paradise, pink dolphins, rheas, anacondas, capybaras and loads more. So so so so jealous.

Who are you going with, wouldnt be world challenge would it?

How bad is the altitude sickness really? We've all been told we have to be uber fit and I think I'll be ok but I'm not sure I'm quite up to their standards! But yeah, we're going to the pampas/jungle/rurrenabaque etc so looking forward to the pink dolphins and the famous anaconda! Think I'll avoid the llama steak now, though - although we've bugeted to hire them to carry our stuff when climbing mountains! (cheaters...) Hope that plan come off.

Oh my god, I'm so excited you've been - we're doing our project in La Paz so slightly scared... Is it as druggy as I'm expecting?!! Slightly wqorried some hit man is gonna grab me and make me smuggle cocain!
And...and...Ooh, I have loads to ask you - think I'll go away and think about it and get back to you!

x x Have a great day

Hey Saffa, home is lil village called Longhoughton, near Alnwick, about 45 mins north of NWC so a fair way from you, i can get into newcastle easy enough if you want to meet up for a drink or can probs bag a lift at some point if you want to meet up for a surf, just let me know what suits you and i'll do my best to be there - things abit unpredictabe and mental at the mo with prep for NZ.

Malibu - yep good old world challenge, hope you like McDougals eh?! I still have a packet of that somewhere.... I posted more on your other thread but feel free to email me and i'll halp you out wherever possible. Dont worry about altitude sickness, its got nothing to do with fitness, its just the luck of the draw, but fitness will help you trekking etc, just drink loads of water and and keep your fingers crossed, i'll have a think and see what else i can recomend you to take etc. Like i said feel free to post, Pm or email me 8)

Oh re the drug thing - we saw lots of coca leaves (perfectly legal) but never saw any sign of the drugs trade, except a few protests from the peasent farmers as the US government are forcing the Bolivian governemnt to destroy the coca growers crops, which is there only source of income. Dont worry, yes petty theft is rife and lots of armed police everywhere but never saw anything worse than a bag being knicked.

And rink Coca tea - it helps with the altitude sickness. Wouldnt be staying in the hotel Andes in La Paz would you? Beware of the showers - they are a death trap! 8)

Fair enough, that is a bit of a way out. Yeah, either way really. Meetin up for a drink might be easier than relying on conditions for a surf and you having to get your board here etc. What you reckon? What sort of days are more convenient for you?
