I'm really enjoying watching the Olympics, has anyone else been watching?
It's been a great afternoon for TeamGB, I'm currently watching Jemma Gibbons in the Judo final.

The BBC's coverage is fantastic.

I love watching the swimming. Missy Franklin is amazing at just 17 years old.

If only they woudl build an artifical wave at every olympics we could have an olympic event. Small waves probably, but would be cool to see olympic medals in tube riding, biggest air, and toes on the nose...

The Australian press - not known for its fair and balanced reporting of Australian/UK sports - led this morning with...

BRITISH CYCLING PAIR DISQUALIFIED!
and, yes, we grudgingly acknowledge that the other Brits may have won some more golds, and are now way ahead of Australia in the medals table.

The Australian press will never change. Still, they need some sensationalist headlines - their squad seems to be under-delivering this time round. Missiles indeed.

Missy Franklin has done really well, Phelps has bagged more medals (20 in total - amazing)
And what about Ye Shiwen - only 16 and 2 golds.

I didn't find it at all amusing when the aussies came fourth in the mens 4x100m freestyle!

The new training program will open water late evening and early morning swims in Western Australia.
Couldn't be any less wounding than the Press.
Australian sportsmen and women are usually OK until they believe their press! Then Cruxifiction with the emphasis on fiction!
Then there was the breaking news about the drunken Australian rower

I'm just a little disappointed in the coverage of the sailing... mostly the men's rsx windsurfers here, and virtually none of the 49ers!!

I ended up getting a ticket for the Thursday night session in the stadium. It was a really great day in the Olympic Park, and the atmosphere in the stadium was fantastic. I got to see Bolt win the 200m and David Rudisha win the 800m in an incredible race.

It's not right, it just isn't.... the British managing to pull of a global event well. That's just not right. Where were the comedy mishaps? The endearing sense of debacle? The stiff upper lip response to the disappointment? It's just not the British way

Ah but this is the New British Way. None of this 'gallant loser' crap for us any more and we have actually realised that, as a nation, we're actually good at things - including (the shock!) sport. Normal service will no doubt be resumed once the good feelings have worn off!
