Central Coast Friends

Hi everyone!
I've just moved to Terrigal from Europe, with my boyfriend. We're both at the beginning of our 30's and we have just bought our first surfboards; and we would like to meet up with some nice people to hang out with. Anyone from Central Coast who have a good idea where we have a chance to get to know some new people IRL?
I apologize for any misspelling or weird sentences, I guess you get the picture.

Welcome to the Central Coast, although I no longer live there, there are some places you can go.
For learning to surf, I'd consider the southern end of Terrigal but not the Haven ( that's a big wave spot), try also South Avoca but not the point, and south Shelly beach, they are the closest to beaches good for learning but choose your days carefully.
There are also boardriders' clubs both long and short

Socially if you like sports then Mingara Club at Tumbi Umbi is a sports club with lots of different teams in different sports, each town up there has various sports teams and that may be a way to socialise.
There is also the Gosford Leagues club but IMO it's not so nice ( at least I didn't think so when I lived there)
I know too there are clubs that are associations of people from their country of origin, like a German club a Greek club etc, they may be a help too but the best clubs are where there is a great mix from everywhere
Great surf territory up there, enjoy. Go watch the haven or Foresters on a big day

Thanks! We have tried to surf at Wamberal (which I guess is the beach you refer to as the south part of Terrigal beach). Anyhow, thanks for sharing your experience and if there are people out there who might wanna extend their friendship circle. Send a PM or post here.

No Wamberal can be a little shoredumpy for beginners you need to go further south along that stretch of beach.
There is another shoredumpy spot just before the bridge across Terrigal lagoon is the spot called ruins, big seas washed a house away there, (that's not the learning spot either).
Go further south across the bridge then drive towards the haven, the spot to learn on easy waves is just north of the Terrigal surf club, pick a peak there and you will be set, you can probably find one without a crowd of other learners, especially mid week, and stay well away from the flags if they are out.
