Your GET PUMPED Surf Playlists

Postby Don_Alessandro » Fri Mar 13, 2009 1:47 pm

(Tried using the search forum option, but couldn't find a topic about this..)

What do you listen to before surfing to get pumped and ready for action?

I won't include my playlist just yet, as I feel that it might bias the answers a little bit, and it would be nice to get some new ideas. Please include your top 10 songs.

True that! Double true! :D I feel the same way, just going surfing is motivating enough, but sometimes just before heading out / getting picked up I usually blast a couple of songs on full volume to get pumped, Just to get that PSYCHED attitude.. so would be cool to see what other surfers play before heading out into the embrace of poseidon. :D

So, what do you play before heading out?

I've got a specific playlist called "About To Do It".
Full of high energy or inspirational stuff like Muse, System of a Down, NIN and random other songs which for one reason or another pump me up. Mostly macho testosterone rock stuff

But also a couple of weirdly mellow ones - some contemporary classical stuff (is that an oxymoron? ) by Vitamin String Quartet, and even a bit of Mozart if I need a bit of calming to go with the pumping on big days.

If i'm driving for an early bird session then its anything loud and heavy to keep me awake more than to pump me up. If its an afternoon or evening session its just whatevers in the car.

Nice nice! I like the input so far. :D Here's a list of 20 of my favourites:

    Muse - Hysteria
    Muse - Stockholm Syndrome
Metallica - Whiskey In The Jar
Rage Against The Machine - Bulls On Parade (Pocket Full of Shells)
Nine Inch Nails - Starf##kers, Inc.
    Billy Talent - Flag Red
    Trapt - Headstrong
Korn (ft. NAS) - Play Me
50cent, Eminem, Lloyd Banks & Cashis - You Don't Know
Dragonforce - Heroes of Our Time
Dragonforce - Storming The Burning Fields
    Slipknot - Duality
    Slipknot - Psychosocial
    P.O.D - Boom
Fort Minor (ft. Styles of Beyond) - Remember The Name
Fat Joe (ft. Lil' Wayne) - Make It Rain
    T.I. - Big Things Poppin'
Lonely Island - I'm On A Boat (Haha! Love the energy in this one.. :p)
Black Diamond Brigade (norwegian collab. check it out on youtube, absolutely fantastic) - Black Diamond
    Beach Boys - Good Vibrations
(absolute classic! this pumping out of the car stereo while the waves suddenly come into your visual field is nothing but LEGENDARY!)

Inspiration sort of got me going there, hope to see some other playlists for fresh ideas :D

No slow kind of songs, but something with (electric) guitars included, basically rock and pop that is ;)
