he he sorry was just trying to get your attention. All this talk of SSSI's and the effects of sewage makes me think you may be an ecology or environmental science student, would I be right? Just being nosy!

If you are whats the course like at Bangor, do they specialise in marine ecology at all. Beginning to think of what Im gonna do after my degree and unfortunatley I feel a PhD is the only way to go. UEA is fab but not much marine mammal research goin on so startin to look elsewhere for postgrad stuff.

If your not on an env type course and jus happen to be very environmentally clued up ignore me.

Anyone else on env or bio courses/thinkin bout doin one?

i know falmouth in cornwall has loads of eviromental courses and marine type things if that helps you and you not excatly too far away from the surf either

i was planing on doing marine biology but then i started looking for jobs in that field and they are few and far between so its either gonna be costal zone managment or oceanography but even then there doesnt seem to be alot of jobs out there

Yeh very true jobs are few and far between and highly competitive but its what i want to do so i decided to make a go of it. Ecology (the degree im doin) is a little bit more general so that if i dont get to work with marine mammals i can still work in endangered species conservation. You should check out the Oceanography course at the University of East Anglia, its taught in (according to the sunday times etc) the best school of Environmental Science in the country. All that and the biggest student union in the country too!

ive looked into most unis that run marine type courses and east anglia does look good but i dont think i could handle being away from the surf im hoping to go bangor or plymouth

but anyway thats a year or so away still need to do the access course

I here ya. Yeh not the best uni for surf..... We have a surf club but it hasnt been very active this semester cos the main guys that run it have both been injured, no ones fault just one of those things. Boooooo. He he enjoy your first year of uni. Aaaah i remember the days... The beatchery, the cucumber shrine, the signposts, the synchronised skipping swat team society, the pub at 11am best year of my life
