I was thinking of getting a wakeboard for the flat days but I was wondering whether wakeboarding might actually be bad for your surfing. Does anyone have any insight? Thanks

I might take up wakeboarding cos near me is this wakeboarding center and it has this electric rope thing that you hold onto and wakeboard across the lake. looks rather fun

I wouldn't think it would do any more harm to your skills than folks who switch between different size surfboards, snowboarding, skateboarding etc. Shawn White has won major contests in both snowboarding and skateboarding. I think the more athletic you are, the easier you can transition back n forth between different sports. The less athletic you are the more difficult it is to jump back n forth and take longer to get your skills back up to par. Same goes for longer layoffs. If you don't surf for a year, a less athletic person might take longer to get back up to par with where they were prior to the layoff. More athletic person would get back up to par more quickly.

Dunno about wakeboarding, looking forward to reying it.

southwestsurfer, don't forget to take your surfboard to the cable park!
you can ski, wakeboard, and wakeskate( this is the closest to riding your surfboard there)
i started out wakeboarding(still wakeboard once a week in the summer)
then snowboarding, in the winter
now i surf all year round, in the winter i'm on the flowrider at kalihari
http://www.kalahariresort.com/waterpark ... ectionid=9
and in the summer i mainly surf behind the boat

oh, and i'm just learning to kitesurf
anyways if anyone is around northern ohio in the summer, you are invited to go wakeboarding or surfing behind the boat
