NSP or Circle One/TakeOff boards

I'm looking to buy my first board. It should be an all rounder for all year and last me from learning the basic and up.

After reading loads on here about the Bic v NSP is it realy worth the extra money for a similar sized epoxy board? I know that alot of people say the pop-outs are only good to learn on and down the line but almost useless at turns, so once a learn to get up i'll want a different board.

So to my question, would it be wiser to by pass the Bic/NSP board and just buy a better more expensive board and take better care of it? This is a long term question as i can only afford one board.

A side note ; the Bic is £100 cheaper than the circle one and TakeOff board i'm looking at. The NSP is £40 cheaper.

Having surfed both a bic 7'6" and an NSP of the same size I prefered the Bic, it seemed lighter and more responsive, but that was just me.

If you're really keen don't forget you get decent new boards on ebay such as mentioned here

But remember you'll always be critisied by some with your pop out as mentioned here

Personally I'd hunt around before I buy a pop out (I had one as my first board) there are always bargains out there.

yea, ebay is a good option to get a board, but there are also surf shops who close down have clearance bargains. nifty. but it's up to you on what board you want, learning to surf can take yeaars, and it should take a long time before you'll need a new board (if you do get the BIC) but also they are supposed to be 'indestructible' but then again not as easy to turn as glass board. so...its up to you

I've got an NSP 7' 6. Learning to surf for a couple of months now.
Not to worried out turning at the moment just trying to stand up right.
It came with a bag, leash and wax.

the best advice i can give is look in some local surf shops first or visit your local surf hotspot/resort. i was going down the same route but for the same money i picked up a second hand custom board which hadent even been ridden yet! its worth a look around first :)
