hey mate, well i moved to aussi about a year ago and been surfing for about 10 months, i am originally from canada and i adore australia, the people, the atmosphere, the beach of course. it felt like home when i got off the plane. for a place to learn to surf its ideal, i live on the sunny coast queensland and theres miles and miles of beach breaks to get learning as well as stuff to check out allong the way. but i mean all the east and west coasts are ideal for surf. another good thing about oz is its set up for traveling, fairly cheap accomidation, even hostleing and working for the hostle your staying at is popular with travelers wanting to stay for a period of time and with such airlines like virgin blue, you can go city to city one way for usually no more then $100 AUD. look into it mate, you wont regret it, i promise

I grew up on the sunshine coast in QLD. Ace place to learn, anything form beachies to good points, so you're all set.
