I've been having this pain in my forearm lately when Ive been surfing and I cant figure out what's going on. It feels like a growing pain, deep in the bone of my arm. I remember having it when the water gets really cold but right now its not cold. I dont know what it is and why Im getting it but it hurts. Its a dull, deep pain in the bone....could be in the nerve, I dont know. Any guesses???

It might be tennis elbow, or could you have bruised the bone?
Sorry I'm not an expert.

I don't think it's tennis elbow, although Ill look into that. It hurts more in the forearm region and less in the elbow.

No, Its not tennis elbow. The pain corresponds to exhaling deeply. It's really weird I know. That's why I can't figure it out. Maybe it has to do with my vascular system?

Have you ever knowingly broken that arm? Past breaks are famous for hurting in cold weather, and if you put excessive or constant pressure on an old break it may be possible to weaken it? Causing more frequent pain.
Just an idea.

Top tip - if it worries you that much, go see a doctor! It may well be simple like a muscle problem, it may not be........

you know what, I think it's a pinched nerve! I do a lot of manual labor so I think that might be it. Im going to wait a week though, to see if it goes away on its own. Any other suggestions??

Broken bone was my first guess, I'm kind of an expert having broken 15 different bones... Sometimes when you get a muscle pain in the arm, it may be from the take off. Or did you get bumped recently at that location? If it still hurts after a week or so, seek professional assistance.

My best guess would be muscle or tendon strain, in which case you need to let it heal by not using it and taking anti inflamitory tablets like Ibuprofen (obviously following the guidelines on the packet!). The length of time it would take to heal depends on the severity of the strain, but try 1-2 wks and see how it goes.
If that doesn't work or if you want the best advice then see a physiotherapist

yeah sounds like a tendon strain. medicine and some exercises to strengthen it might help
