Just had a great run on swell in Anglesey (5 days on the trot of VERY good surf, bordering on classic) - looks like more is on the way for early next week.

OK - so it's never going to rival Pipeline, but 2-4ft wave faces, clean to glassy with light offshore breezes and the sun shining - I'll take that, thanks... :D

And there has just been Seven full days of proper groundswell on the East Coast (Yorkshire) too. Its not been too bad a year Eastside so far, so no i doubt that will be it till September.

East coast tends to get fairly regualr swell over summer (atleast it has in recent years)
Northwales is pretty much flat for the majority of the summer apart from the odd swell thats rolls in.

TYPHOONS IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC! Huge, massive, gargantuan non life threatening typhoons in the S. Pacific!!! That's what I'm hoping for. Maybe Global Warming will kick in and cause a few extra storms this year, another benefit never mentioned!!!

Global Warming - means I won't have to travel so far to the beach!!

SM - as I've said, Anglesey has been great recently. Hardly call it 'storm swell' as it's been pretty clean, but hey.......

General rule of thumb is that swell everywhere is smaller in the summer (due to the predominence of high pressure), but there's always the odd tropical storm out in the Atlantic that throws some good groundswell our way.

Keep an eye on MSW, but also use the odd webcam to get a better idea of the ACTUAL conditions, rather than the predicted ones, because they do seem to differ........

BTW, where's 'local' for you then??

I hate to dissapoint you but want to save you a wasted trip.. That "swell" next week will manafest about 2-4inches on the isle...

you might just get a ridable log wave at hells anus high tide but don't count on it.

Yes, it will be flat everywhere. I suggest everyone give up surfing and to those that are thinking of starting...there's no point...don't even start.
