hey

I am planning on heading down to mexico for a month and a half. my purpose there is to do the Pacific coast and learn how to surf.

i have experience snowboarding and wakeboarding but i am a lousy skateboarder. so here's my question...

how hard is it to learn how to surf? begginners out there your input is much appreciated.
am i chasing a dream here?

it seems like the other surfing forums out there are not so enthusiastic about new commers to the sport... and understanably so. i can understand how virgin waves are hard to come by and that tourism can take over the purity of the sport.

thanks for your perspectives.

Go for it...Im fairly new to surfing (though had a lifetime of skating/snowboarding) and it's the best thing ive done in ages...be prepared to get frustrated mind but you only learn by getting out there...

Everyone has to start somewhere, just be careful , get some lessons and enjoy... 8)

surfing is bl**dy hard, for some people it can take a year until they are popping up and going down the line, others can be going it in a few months, it all depends if youve got natural tallent and how dedicated and enthusiastic you are
