indo board

are they worth the cash

i think they are a rip off, way too much money for what they are... but then they do help a lot with balance. why dont you just make one, i've had a go on a home made 1, with a bit of wood and a plastic pipe, if you can find one wide enough. just stick sum small blocks either end, underneath so it doesn't go shooting off when you fall :)

i thought they were a bit pricey for a piece of wood and a toilet roll filled with concrete.
Did you homemade one hold up that well i read about another guy who made one and he said the tube kept falling to bits

yeh, it belongs to someone else, and they've had it for like 3 years now. its quite a thick tube, but only plastic. its not as good to ollie with an that, but for just a basic balance trainer its good.

I had not seem them before you posted your message but I went to have a look at their website. They have a big list of surfers who have (supposedly) used the board to help their surfing so maybe there is something in it.
Personally i'd rather go surfing!

i gotta admit, they are really fun, i could spend hours on one, but i think it's just an added bonus that it helps along your balance. i don't think its life changng or surf changing or nothin.

altho a bit pricey they are still worth the doe, once you've got it, its just there for you even when you cant go outside its something else to get your body around, absolutely xxxxx loadsa fun.

i was going to make one, then i didnt get around to it so i just bought one and when i did i was like why didnt i just do this ages ago..??!!! plus theres a bit more to the board n set up than i thought, and if i had of made one i probably would hav killed myself!! having said that buying one is equally likely to kill me off >>>THEY'RE LETHAL>>>BRILLIANT!! and a real work out 2!! you can get the time to train your legs to hold some gnarly positions and get to grips with new graps n stuFF....

indo boards are so much fun. you can buy the pro surf model thats much harder than the regular ones but its sooo addicting and so fun!!!

i bought one, and im never tired of it, since i just had surgery on my nose and i cant surf for 4 weeks i just use my indoboard as an alternative. :)

as it was snowing all weekend i decided it was time to make the indo. Went quite well and only cost me £20

what did you use to make it then? does it work good like?

not too bad actually. 14mm ply for the board. I got bored of shaping it though so its kind of ruff around the edges (no electric sander). Then i found an old celebrations container which is about 4inches in diameter, filled it with concrete, gaffer around the outside for grip and bosh it was done. Seeing as its either been flat or too cold to go surfing for about a month now it was the most fun ive had in ages.
Can almost do a 180 on it aswell

Just an update on my board, although at first i thought the concrete filled sweet container had worked it hadnt. Although the concrete felt set on the outside it was still pretty mushy on the inside, as no air could get to it i dont think it was gonna set for a long time. After a couple of weeks of use it collapsed.

However i went to the metal supermarket the other day and picked up a 4inch bit of steel tube for £3. Gaffered it up and im away again

Still a cool £50 cheaper than buying a proper one

The way forward is to look at some building sites - they should have some offcuts of that yellow sewage pipe (about 1 inch thick) knocking about.

Talk to the foreman and he'll probably let you have some.

That with the board would work really well - I used some as a boardslide rail when I used to skate!
